Results and Discussion Froth flotation of Zonguldak bituminous coal was carried out using two nonionic reagents (Triton x-100 and MIBC) and an anionic reagent (SDS). The effects of reagents and reagent mixtures in froth flotation were evaluated with the froth structure and flotation performance depending on the reagent adsorption.

The main method used for lithium micas concentration is froth flotation using amine cationic collectors. However, challenges are raised to obtain good selectivity between lithium micas and other silicate gangue minerals, all these minerals having close surface properties and therefore floatability behaviours. ... Froth flotation is the most utilizable process for the low-grade ores due to its higher selectivity compared to other beneficiation processes. This process has become an attractive field due to its great potential for the separation of different ores, its ability to purify mineral materials and its performance [6], [7], [8], [9].

froth, which is used for modelling in flotation plants. The concept of froth recovery was first proposed by Finch and Dobby (1990). In general, froth recovery can be measured by direct or indirect methods. In the direct methods, by measuring the bubble loading, froth recovery can be calculated (Bhondayi and Moys, 2011).

and allows a stable froth to form on the surface of the flotation machine. Xanthate and dithiophosphate are common collectors used in the flotation of sulfide minerals. These collectors adsorb on the surface to render minerals such as chalcopyrite hydrophobic. Figure 1. Laboratory froth flotation machine.

Froth flotation is a physicochemical process that is used to separate fine mineral particles from aqueous suspensions by selective attachment of some types of minerals to air bubbles. Froth flotation is the most important mineral processing technology for the production of valuable mineral concentrates from which metals and minerals are obtained. Practically all metals in use …
Froth flotation was commercially introduced early in the 20th century. Now, almost 100 years later, it is the most important and widely used separating method for minerals. In its application to mineral flotation, the ore is first ground in water to a certain size to produce a suspension which is then subjected to vigorous mixing in a suitable vessel.

Froth stability is a critical factor for flotation and even a small decrease in froth stability causes a decrease in the recovery of desirable minerals (Hadler and Cilliers, 2009, Hadler et al., 2012, Kowalczuk and Drzymala, 2017a, Kowalczuk and Drzymala, 2017). Although frothers improve flotation rate and recovery, a very high frother ...
